Executive Board Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, January 27, 2015 @ 7:30 pm

 

PRESENT: : Ed Beardsley, Marrie Caldiero, Geneva Coats, Ken Hanke, Robert Kuettle, Jim Nones, Maria Schmidt.

 

ABSENT: Keith Ballard, Mary Beardsley, Dick Kohlschreiber, Galen Pittman, Paul Richter.

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:36 pm by President Kuettle. Minutes of the December 2014 meeting were not available. Mrs. Coats was appointed acting Recording Secretary for the meeting.

We have lots of items on the agenda so will just welcome everyone to the meeting and proceed with business.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

 

Bulletin

Postal/EBulletin Winter 2015 will be sent to the board as well as volunteer Heather Sabin. When corrected will be added to members section of website.

Spring 2015 Bulletin currently in production.

 

Website/Digital Library

Entire old website is downloaded and accessible on the new server. The Photo section takes the public to the old website photo section. Old website fee due for renewal in March. Will ask David Kocot to set up an FTP site to get PDFs scanned by Mr. Kuettle onto the members section of the website. Bulletins and information from 1940 to present have been scanned and will be added asap.

 

75^th Anniversary show

A show committee was appointed consisiting of Geneva Coats, Marrie Caldiero, Heather Sabin and Gail Grassl. The committee will meet to consider Theme, Program, review of rules, supplies needed, judges, clerks, new entry cards, ribbons/trophies, judging and clerking guidelines. The board selected Wressey Cocke as the featured hybridizer for the 2015 show.

 

75^th anniversary year-long celebration

The annual Christmas party will be replaced with the 75^th anniversary luncheon as planned by Mr. Nones.

NEW BUSINESS

 

Programs for 2015

Programs for 2015 will include Wressey Cocke, African violets, Mr. Fertilizer, Gro Power, Kellogg's, and show preparation advice in April or May.

 

Green Scene

Need liability releases from ALL participants asap

 

Spring Garden Show

Need to plan setup and get volunteer schedule going. Mrs. Coats will contact Gail Ossipoff at South Coast Plaza to enquire as to booth size/location.

 

Next meeting

The next board meeting will be held Tuesday February 24 @ 7:00 pm in the Los Angeles Arboretum Bamboo Room.

 

Upon a motion made by Mrs. Coats and seconded by Mr. Beardsley, the meeting was adjourned at 9:23 pm.
